what kind of stupid blog is this?
Poppi writes about the dumbest stuff...
Shopping bags, deposits on bottles and cans, loosies, restaurant shacks in the street, composting, wood fired pizza, parking tickets, bike lanes, guinea pigs;
Poppi writes about the most boring stuff too ...the budget, the debt, rent control.
Those aren't important issues, are they? The bigger issues are CRIME! Racism! Inequality! The Environment! Global Warming!
But the small issues actually impact your life every day, and politicians reveal their true colors by what they do. Underneath their veneer of "concern" is their urge to be the centralized dictatorship that micromanages every aspect of your life; because they think they know better than you do, about how to run your life. That view of their own self-importance, that sanctimonious streak, their feeling of superiority is what drives all of their policies.
I started this blog because I'm fed up with the mismanagement and malice, the lies and subterfuges of the ruling parties.
we're looking for changes to the past fifty year's status quo.
Common Sense, not ideology, must rule the future. The old policies have failed, and must be cast aside. We're tired of the government bowing down to the loud but small groups who are pushing changes to our culture and heritage; the destroyers who haven't built anything.
The only way to get that change, that return to common sense and sanity, is to elect an all new City Council, made up of ordinary New Yorkers, not politicians.
This November we have that opportunity for (almost) a clean sweep; out of 51 City Council districts, 38 have republicans running against the entrenched Democrats (13 districts have only a Democrat running … a guaranteed win). If your district has someone challenging the incumbent, vote for that person.
